Vanilla Bean Sugar

If you are a Vanilla and Sugar Lover like Betty, she suggests combining your two loves to make a Misfit Vanilla Sugar. It is easy and is considered to be a Misfit recycled treat!


• When utilizing a recipe which calls for fresh Vanilla Beans, make sure to save the Pod or Skin of the beans.

• Once all of the beans have been scraped out away, lightly rinse the Pod with water and pat dry thoroughly. Cut the Pod in half. 

• Submerge each piece into your canister of sugar.

• The pods may remain in the sugar for as long as you want. The longer it stays, the better the sugar.

The sugar will take on the aroma and slight flavor of vanilla. Betty swears by this and uses it in any recipe that calls for sugar. Yummy!
