It is time to embrace your tap water by adding a water filter to your kitchen faucet. No more buying water encapsulated in plastic bottles. No more buying bags of ice encapsulated in plastic bags. It will save you money and more importantly, you will be doing a good deed for the environment.

*Average Usage per person is 300 Gallons of drinking water per year.

Pur Water Filtration System and ancillary products:

• Initital Investment (approx): $111 for 2 years worth of water
• Subsequent years "out of pocket" expense (approx):  $26 per year

Brita Water Filtration System and ancillary products:

• Initital Investment (approx): $129 for 2 years worth of water
• Subsequent years "out of pocket" expense (approx): $45

Bottled store bought water
$5 case of 24 bottles (16oz) = 3 Gallons of water

Betty's "Savings" Conclusion

Using the Water Filtration System can save you up to $444.50 per year for the first 2 years and up to $474.00 per year thereafter! You will also be responsible for keeping 2,400 plastic bottles from being dumped into a landfill or the ocean.

Being Fantastically Frugal is liberating. This year, you can afford to go to the movie theater 37 times. Don't forget to bring your new stainless steel water bottle, so you don't have to pay for a drink!
